Chemex provides Ecotoxicity Effluent Testing
Monitoring the discharge of complex Industrial effluent into controlled waters is an ever increasing priority. The typical method is toxicity testing; looking at the effect of the effluent on non-target organisms.
Chemex routinely conducts marine and freshwater effluent testing on a variety of non-target organisms.
The standard species include but are not limited to Skeletonema costatum and Acartia tonsa for marine discharge. Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata and Daphnia magna for freshwater discharge.
The Environment Agency (EA) monitors freshwater effluent discharge in the UK. Currently Chemex holds the contract for all effluent testing conducted by the EA in our region. Therefore the regulators are familiar with our reports and you can be sure the data will be of high quality and within the current demands.
As well as standard effluent testing Chemex is mCERTS approved to conduct DTA effluent testing (see DTA article). In addition we can test both industrial effluents and sewage discharge.
