Professional Sampling Kits Provided to Ensure Sample Integrity from Site to Laboratory.

Once analytical requirements have been confirmed, Chemex will supply, free of charge, all the containers required for sample collection. Size and type (glass bottles with PTFE lined caps, plastic bottles, Tedlar bags, sorbent tubes etc,) of container will be determined by both the matrix and analyte(s) as will the presence of an appropriate preservative. Where a preservative is required the bottles will be shipped predosed.

The containers are shipped in a thick walled (65mm) polystyrene box with a heavy duty cardboard outer (Samplesafe), for maximum thermal insulation and shock protection together with chain of custody documentation (Datasafe) and blue gel ice packs which, if deep frozen and returned with the samples, will maintain the internal temperature within the range 2-6C, as recommended by the USEPA, for a period of no less than 48 hours. If samples are prechilled prior to packing this period has been shown to exceed 72 hours.

Sample kits can be dispatched to office or site by courier for delivery, within the UK, the next working day (before 9.00am is usually possible except for the most remote destinations). Delivery to other destinations within the EU may take one or two days depending on the distance from the nearest international airport.

Proper use of the sample kit supplied by Chemex will ensure that the integrity of the samples is maintained from the time samples are taken in the field to the time of their arrival at the laboratory.
