Chemex offers to clients two levels of analytical reporting specifications for any one analyte. The two specifications are 'First Class' and 'Corporate Class'. The analytical 'package' required for each project are defined by the client as part of the reporting project specification. The two class system has been developed to address the varied analytical requirements of the environmental sector. Each class package has well defined specifications. Differentiation of class package is based on:
- Sampling provisions supplied to client (duplicate bottles supplied for all samples first class)
- Data reporting deliverables (instrument performance data, sample batch QC data and chain-of-custody is reported in the first class reports).
Regardless of the analytical class package, the quality assurance system is applicable to all analytical projects and thus both classes of analyses will be compliant with UKAS/ MCERTS (where applicable) quality standards.
A standard corporate class Chemex report will contain the following information:
1. Front Sheet:
* Client's name
* Client's project code
* Chemex unique project ID
* Sample matrix analysed
* Data turnaround
* Quote number, order number
* Client's address
* Names and signatures of authorizing Chemex project supervisor and QA staff, date of authorization.
2. Report content sheet
3. Introduction sheet
4. Project Note sheet (temperature upon sample arrival, sampling data and time, specific matrix (e.g. soil types, MCERTS), any anomalies observed during the analytical process from time of sample receipt are highlighted in the 'Project Notes' section of the report, e.g. whether sample was preserved on site).
5. Analytical method summary (detailing analytical method employed, scope, principle, whether analysis was carried out on air-dried or "as submitted" etc)
6. Point to note in the interpretation of the analytical results
7. Analytical method detection (MDL) and quantitation (QL) limit table
8. Data summary sheets:
a. Unique Chemex sample identifiers
b. Client's sample identifiers
c. Sample bottle numbers
d. Sample data, including blanks.
9. Data sheets and chromatograms (organic parameters only) and blank summary forms 4 (SVOCs and VOCs only):
* Date analysis started/ completed
