Chemex compliance to US EPA is demonstrated through the State of New Jersey DEP OQA laboratory certification
New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, the Office of Quality Assurance (OQA) certifies over 800 laboratories granting nearly 125,000 certifications each year. Certification is available for various matrices including wastewater, soils and solid/hazardous waste, for inorganic and organic properties. Certification is offered through the state Environmental Laboratory Certification Program (ELAP). The OQA administers the Department's Quality Assurance Program based on Title 40 Code of Federal Regulations Parts 31 and 35 which lists both general and specific requirements for a state's environmental program and acceptable quality assurance for federally funded programs.

Chemex clients assessing data using Analytical Data Evaluation Guidelines defined by the USEPA have indicated that laboratory participation in US based inter-laboratory assessment programs would be useful. The NJ DEP, OQA operates an accreditation program for those participating laboratories, which have passed initial performance evaluation studies for drinking water analysis.
Chemex has achieved certification for a range of methods following auditing by NJ DEP, OQA in 1994. This certification covers USEPA methods 8260 (volatiles, purge and trap with GC/MS (capillary)), 8270 (semivolatiles, pesticides, extraction with GC/MS), supported by methods 3510, 3545, 3550, 5030, 5035 and 3640.
